Good morning all

RE: Update on work at Toonumbar Dam and interruption to water supply on Iron Pot and Eden Creeks

WaterNSW, the state’s bulk water supplier and system operator is undertaking upgrade work to replace one valve at Toonumbar Dam and will interrupt water supply to Iron Pot and Eden Creeks over 1 week starting 20th April 2020.

Our last notice sent to stakeholders, community and residents on the 17 March 2020 indicated that WaterNSW was replacing 2 valves at the dam.  The scope of work has been revised under the COVID-19 restrictions and protocols, to reduce risk to staff and contractors.  One valve is now being installed and work starts on 20 April 2020 and will take 1 week to complete.

There is a water interruption planned for 1 week from Monday 20 April 2020 until Saturday 25 April 2020 and residents and customers living downstream on Iron Pot Creek and Eden Creek may not have supply during this period.

WaterNSW will provide early warning network (EWN) updates ahead of the outage and are committed to keeping the local community informed. This work is essential to ensure the efficient delivery of water to customers and to meet contemporary safety and engineering standards.

The works are being undertaken on WaterNSW lands in areas where there is no public access and recreation areas at Toonumbar Dam are to remain open. The works are scheduled to take place during standard construction hours on Monday to Friday from 7am to 6pm and Saturday 8am to 1pm.

To register for our early warning network and to receive alerts go to waternsw.com.au and for more information call the WaterNSW Helpdesk on 1300 662 077 and visit waternsw.com.au
